Kendal Hurd, 40, and her husband, Kyle Hurd, 38, were both charged with multiple felony counts of insurance fraud, as well as multiple counts of perjury or attempted perjury after filing fraudulent disability claims. Kyle Hurd initially filed his claim in December 2018 claiming his equipment belt along with getting in and out a patrol car constantly injured his back, while in 2019 Kendal Hurd filed a claim nearly identical to her husband’s. Both were documented to have been mountain biking and boating, flying internationally, scuba diving as well as working on various home improvement projects while maintaining they couldn’t work due to pain associated with the daily physical rigors of being a police officer.
